Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) is proud to announce the appointment of San Bernardino County Second District Supervisor Jesse Armendarez to its governing board.

“I am honored to join the IEHP Governing Board and support its mission of providing high-quality, accessible health care to the residents of the Inland Empire,” said Armendarez. “Ensuring that families, seniors and individuals in our community have access to the care they need is essential for a healthier, stronger region. I look forward to working alongside my fellow board members to continue expanding services and ensuring a high standard of healthcare for all.”

Armendarez will serve a two-year term, replacing San Bernardino County Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe, who first joined the board in 2021.

“IEHP’s Governing Board looks forward to continuing its advocacy work in support of more than 1.5 million people,” said newly appointed Board Chair and Riverside County Fifth District Supervisor Yxstian Gutierrez. “We need dedicated voices to help lead our efforts. Supervisor Armendarez is a great choice and a strong advocate for those who live here, including our most vulnerable communities.”

Since graduating from A.B. Miller High School in Fontana, Armendarez has been active in the community serving on every level of local government, including the Fontana Planning Commission, Fontana Unified School District and Fontana City Council. He was elected to county’s Board of Supervisors in 2022 and is also a member of the Fontana Chamber of Commerce, California Association of Realtors’ Board of Directors, Fontana Rotary Club and Fontana Exchange Club.

Armendarez is also a former chair of the Inland Empire Utilities Policy Committee, Vice Chair of the Housing Authority and Industrial Development, and is the current Vice Chair of the California State Association of Counties’ Housing, Land Use and Transportation Committee.

IEHP’s governing board is composed of four elected county supervisors from Riverside and San Bernardino and three appointed members of the public. In addition to Armendarez and Guiterrez, current members include San Bernardino County Fourth District Supervisor Curt Hagman; Riverside County Second District Supervisor Karen Spiegel; Riverside County Public Member Daniel P. Anderson; Joint County Public Member Andrew Williams; and San Bernardino County Public Member Eileen Zorn.
