Managing your asthma

If you’re one of the millions of people who have asthma, you know what a struggle it can be at times. Asthma is a long-term lung disease that can make it harder to breathe. People of all ages can have asthma.

Common asthma symptoms are:

  • Wheezing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest tightness
  • Coughing

If asthma is not controlled and symptoms get worse, an asthma attack can happen. This can be a life-threatening emergency.

The good news is that you can take charge of your asthma. Your doctor can help you make an asthma action plan. Knowing your triggers can help stop asthma symptoms before they start. You can also use a peak flow meter daily to check if you are having any asthma symptoms.

The more you learn about asthma, the better you’ll be able to control it. Breathe easier by signing up for an asthma education program.

No-cost asthma programs
